JPMorgan Chase CEO goes Viral over Work-life Balance Comment | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has sparked controversy with his comments on work-life balance. An old video is making the rounds again, suggesting it's an individual's responsibility to manage the work-life balance, not the companies. Dimon's remarks have ignited a broader debate on who should bear the responsibility for achieving work-life balance. Who is responsible for work-life balance? Should work-life balance be a shared responsibility?

So that's why, Don't love your company, Love your Job because you never know when your company stops loving you!!

I used to work for Jamie Dimon and his "let them eat cake" attitude was very apparent in the Bank's toxic work environment. Always demanding more, always insisting "above and beyond" while wages stayed stagnant. Always cutting benefits and acting like they're helping you. They keep beating the "times are hard" drum and everyone needs to make sacrifices, as long as it's not them. Yes it was my job to take care of myself, so I quit. Because nobody on their deathbed wishes they did more for their boss.

It’s like the chicken farm owner telling the chickens ‘you decide your life quality’.

If you work for JP Morgan. You will realise it is not possible to have a work life balance. Because the work load is so high. It is impossible to log off on time. Your manager will expect you to complete your work on time even if the volumes are high. They are always understaffed because most of the managers want to show efficiency by reducing employees that's the main problem and even if you want to hire an employee to replace another who had left the team. the approval to get a new employee could take minimum 4 Months and the manager will have to give justification why they need a new employee. Most managers wouldn't want to go through this hassle so they try not to get a new employee. Jamie should try to sort this problem rather than blaming the employees for not having a work life balance.

Worst part is your manager will question you why are you updating overtime. I cannot approve it. So they try not to show overtime at all. They never used to pay for overtime. Now they tell the employees not to update the exact overtime. So that you don't have to pay them.

Jamie Dimon was born into wealth and privilege as his father and grandfather were stockbrokers and bankers in New York City. Dimon was appointed to a CFO position at age 30. He apparently did not spend much time working his way up and really can’t identify with a “regular” work experience.

It's the employee's job to maintain a work-life balance. It's the company's job to have flexible and supportive policies in place to make that possible for their employees.

Jaime Diamon is a career criminal and should be in jail for his role in the 2008 collapse. He is a perfect example of why you should never trust the executive class. They hate you if you are a worker. They HATE you. C-suite gets those perks.... nobody who is working regular jobs gets massages, pilates or shrinks provided by the company... Diamon is again demonstrating his disconnection from average workers. Jaime Diamon is a horrible person and is advocating against the needs of workers every day of his life.

Correct, it is our job to take care of work-life balance. It is also our job to give the finger to companies like this one when they expect for work over 40hrs/week and to ignore work calls, texts and emails after work hours are over.

If the company wants employee flexibility outside of work hours... they need to give flexibility during work hours. It goes both ways. Or in words he'd understand: "It is your job to figure out how to get things done outside of normal work hours, not OUR job".

Yeah !! It’s very easy to maintain work-life balance when companies overload you with work, and say company strives for mental and work-life balance !!

That's why I love working in Germany; the government ensures that employers comply, and also MOST employers are considerate.

Then when Gen Z "quiet quits" to take work life balance as their own responsibility, these same people cry and throw a fit 😂

40% of Americas don't use all their paid time off because they can't use it all. Companies demand more and more from their employees and most companies don't offer therapy to manage burnout. My company offers therapy and my productive has skyrocketed

Literally easier said than done when you are the ceo of the largest bank and you can do whatever, whenever you want. He doesn’t adhere to any work policies. He’s an idiot.

When you work beyond the 8hrs shift + 4hrs travel time, you're just gonna be too tired to do anything else.
