Tesla Yoke Steering Wheel ( DO I regret it?!)

I've had the Model X Yoke steering wheel for a few months now. I've heard it's horrible to use with U-turns, low speed maneuvers, and people just hate it. But I LOVE IT!!

Tesla mobile tech here. Avoid these mods at all costs. I’ve seen several 3/Y’s where the airbag deployed after an accident and the new cover made the airbag deploy incorrectly and even some pieces of the cover itself ejected right in the face of the driver.

Worst part is that when we or whoever does the documentation for the insurance company we take note of the mod. The insurance then denies any compensation for damage in your face since your mod may have caused it.

Also, this voids quite some warranties in your car. We can see in our logs every single connector you have disconnected and reconnected as soon as we connect to your car for any service you may need.

These videos are all either fully paid or sponsored by the manufacturers. And they don’t care about your safety. It’s just not worth it.

Yoke with progressive steering would be ideal but the real loss is the removal of the stalk.

Those arms and biceps are huge. That’s lots of power for the Yoke!

Im considering the yoke mainly cause, I want to get a front screen and the yoke will make it super easy to see. I rarely rest my hands on the top anyways.

Thank you for the video bro. Planning on getting the new 2023 model S soon. The Yoke is definitely not for everyone. I’m sure practice and repetition is gonna be muscle memory after awhile. But I’m going for the Yoke steering wheel. I appreciate the time you took to make this video and the 100 point turn lol. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Chris, I have a model S with a yoke and I enjoyed your video. The only times the yoke bothers me (all points that you made) are the horn (lame) finding the correct turn signal button when the yoke isn’t straight, and finally, when in FSD it isn’t as easy to let the yoke slide between your fingers in a turn

best yoke was the one that still had stocks, you have visibility for the screen infront of you in the model S and X and you also get the normal horn, and the shifter we are all familiar with.
So what I would do is buy a normal donut steering wheel, then seperately buy the old yoke steering wheel and replace the donut with it

Took me a day to get used it and now I love it on my X. Now thinking about adding the yoke for the 3.

I’ve had the model x with a yoke for over a month now. I honestly love it and I’m so glad I got this over the regular one. It’s very easy to get used to and looks amazing.

What do you think of a Yoke on a MYP???? Would it feel the same. Is it worth the upgrade cost? Thanks. Love your Vids.

A few issues with the yoke is the blinkers are too close to the volume/menu wheel. I'm finding I put the blinker on (can't hear it with the stereo on) when I use the volume/wheel. Horn button also(hard to find), high beam has a mind of it's own.(can't seem to leave it on high when I want it.) The Yoke is nice, I love it! No issues, because when you are driving you never need to go more than 45 degrees unless you are parking or going very slow.(then it's be careful time not to scrape the wheels because right front is hard to judge).

You need a yoke because that's the only way to tell your neighbors that... hey... my Model S/X is new!!!😂

Nice guns, Chris! As for me, I'll only be interested in yoke steering when Tesla goes steer by wire. It makes so much more sense with that.

Chris- if you wrap your hand around the horn/right side and squeeze, the horn will honk.

Great video. Thanks for the tips on U turns. I have the yoke on my S and totally agree that the turn signal and horn are problematic, definitely while turning. Otherwise I really like it.

Hey young whipper snapper, old fart here😂. Like your videos. Your reference to U Turn vs a 3point or multi point turn is confusing. In my old world, Uturns are done at intersections to turn around and change direction.
Love your vids even though I can’t afford one of these new fangled machines. Keep up the good work.

Haha, totally agree, I naturally ALWAYS drive w/ 1 hand on top drivin in chill mode like a gangsta. I don't know if I'm okay with sacrificing that ability since I've been doing it for 25 years.
Love how you said the 9 & 3 hand positions are the safe and BORING way to drive. YES, 1, 000% correct! 🤣

2:33 You don’t have to worry about the steering wheel blocking the instrument panel in the model y because there is no instrument panel.
