The New Deal made Things Worse... Much Worse | Politically Incorrect Guide to the Great Depression

In the second episode of "The Politically Incorrect Guide" Tom Woods & Michael Malice demolish widespread myths about the Great Depression and the New Deal. Tom & Michael explain how the New Deal worsened the very problems it aimed to solve, that capitalism didn't cause the Great Depression (the Federal Reserve did), and that World War II prolonged rather than ended the Great Depression.

The first season of "The Politically Incorrect Guide" includes ten episodes and will release throughout 2021. Each covers the undiscussed facts and stories about history, culture, and social movements, purged from today’s mainstream education system. Tom Woods penned the very first book in the series, "The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History," which was a New York Times bestseller.

This is actually quite interesting. And it’s important to consider this kind of information in Today’s market, especially with what the Joe Biden administration is doing.

I read a book about the great depression years ago. My brother recommended it and we are on the verge of a depression now. History repeats its self.

"The only thing we have to fear ... is an economically illiterate president." Which is pretty much what we've had for 11 of the last 15 years.

Everyone saying they weren't taught this. You were, you just didn't pay enough attention, or ask the right questions.

None of this makes sense. How did the new deal become a bad thing? Then what saved us from the great depression if it wasn’t for FDR?

A video with nearly 200k views and only 45 comments and less than 500 upvotes? Yep totally normal. I bet you guys are really leaving this to the "free market" you preach to love and not using any bots at all, no sir.

"Governments can err, presidents do make mistakes, but the immortal Dante tells us that Divine justice weighs the sins of the cold-blooded and the sins of the warm-hearted on different scales.

Better the occasional faults of a government that lives in a spirit of charity than the consistent omissions of a government frozen in the ice of its own indifference."

The whole reason he got rid of product to increase prices was to circulate more money around. Lets say you go out and the prices are so low you can buy 5 loaves of bread. The problem is you are one person and you dont need 5 loaves, so its cheaper to buy only three loaves since you can eat all that before it goes stale or moldy. The store sees that people wont buy all that food so they buy less from the farmer making it, however it would be stupid to buy the worse quality food. The stores now pick which farms to buy from leaving some farms with no income. Reasonably the farmer is now bankrupt with no income and must sell the farm. So now they go into the cities looking for jobs that dont exist, and thus unemployment goes up. The same for factories. You only need one toaster so why make so many toasters if only one will be bought per family every few years. The factory is closed and there is even less jobs. Its all supply and demand. Too much supply, too little demand. That's why so many businesses failed at the start of the depression. FDR cut the supply to make demand go up which helps the economy breathe, but also paid the farmers to stop mass migration to the cities. That helped lessen competition for the factory jobs which helped lower the overall unemployment rate. Even if more money was spent on food; at least people could start making money to pay for it.

This is so bad. Michael Malice clearly likes his cartoon image because it looks nothing like him. Even if it's not scripted, it sounds scripted, and it's boring. Don't worry about me commenting again, I'm done with this piss-poor show... unless the next one is better.
