Commenting from 2024 after insurance prices have risen like crazy. I’ve played around with all these things and almost halved my quote. I’m younger than 25, driving a jaguar xk8 4.0L V8. Granted the car typically won’t have my claims which lends into it being so cheap but still, super helpful.

Another big factor is how you describe your job title, you can embellish it without lying and it’ll help your premium. Even as a uni student I’ve done this using my part time job

Just choose and change all options and variables that you can reasonably get away with until your quote is cheapest.
Choosing low risk options often bumps up cost also I.e More mileage is less expensive with some insurers these days, parked on a street rather than locked garage and address in a run down part of town can save money.
Also worth bearing in mind the cheapest insurance will always be the collection of variable that is selected the least by everyone. When 51% choose to park on the street, it will become cheaper to park in the garage again.

I wonder whether the value of the car genuinely matters... My £5, 000 car cost £300 to insure, my £47, 000 car cost £410 to insure. Some charge more for garage parking over street parking, some charge less!!
