NY ‘Good Cause’ Eviction Law Would Prevent All Evictions, Even AirBnB!!

The proposed good cause eviction law in New York State could have some unintended consequences as it would be impossible for landlords to remove AirBnB or vacation rental users. Also it would not only act as a permanent eviction moratorium, but also impose rent control on all landlords in the entire state.

How about a good cause non foreclosure law, so people with mortgages can stay in their property regardless if they pay, are late, do not pay mortgage. Banks and loan owners are rich and should have pity on people with mortgages. It's only fair that they get a payment/contract break like renters.

A similar law was enacted on Spain and wrecked the entire renting industry, it made very difficult, more expensive to rent.

Tony please what's going on with the Erap program in NY, no money and no Letter of acceptance or denial, until 180 days, they're just taking advantage of landlord to keep these tenants. Nyc basically stealing from Landlords.

So why have leases if they are going to be meaningless? What will happen is that people will sell their property and the numbers of rental units will decrease. They are going to end up making the homeless problem worse.

In some cities of Central New York the property tax assessments are increasing 30 - 35%, would you agree that this is unconscionable and cruel? So the tax liability on many properties is planned to increase 10%. All the while New York State want to restrict the amount that Landlords can increase rent to 3%. This come after NYS used Landlords properties as an extension of the department of social services resulting in many landlords losing $10's of thousands. They did that without even so much as a thank you.
THE LAST PLACE TO INVEST IN IS NEW YORK STATE.

I hope landlords can just sell their properties as condos and then there will be no rental properties for tenant to not pay rent on.
