Atcually what I've noticed among guitarists, that djent or prog guitarist that uses 6 string are more creative, example Sam osborn from napoleon, chon, jakub zytecki and many others, and the ones that uses 7 8 strings just plays the same riffs with same time beat over and over again. If you heard one song from them then you heard it all.
