Wash N Go Tip: Getting It To Lay Flat| Natural Hair

Smoothing has been my saving Grace when it comes to my wash n gos! [Save 📌 & Share ↗️]

I used to watch tons of wash n go videos and wonder why my hair would be more like a fro than theirs. Then I realized I was watching Curlies who were trying to increase volume or had lower density than me.

Then I started watching curlies who had similar hair density than me, I figured out I was Raking Too Much and Not Smoothing Enough. And it has made all the difference.

As a high density girl, if I blink to hard I get lots of volume 🤣 so in order for me to make it to day 7 without a puff I needed Smoothing!!!

💫Do you utilize smoothing or raking more in your routine? Or do you use them equally?

I like this. Sometimes I don’t even do a last take I’ll just smooth in sections and then shake my hair. It will separate throughout the week giving volume and definition.

This is true I had the same problem; raking, praying hands, nothing worked. Until I discovered smoothing, I think about all the products I wasted. Another tip: apply your styling products directly on hair, don’t emulsify/ rub products on your palms ✋ first before applying, only emulsify shampoo

I started doing this to avoid my hair tangling with UFD. My hair is even more soft and shiny, smoothing distributes the product better imo.
