Wild Kingdom Visits the Bats at Bracken Cave

While this cave may be spooky and dangerous for us humans, it’s heaven for a Mexican free-tailed bat! Bracken Cave, located just outside of San Antonio, Texas, is the home to the largest colony of bats in the world. With over 15 million Mexican free-tailed bats calling this cave their summer home, it’s not only the largest known concentration of bats, but the largest known concentration of mammals on earth!

Just hang out at sunset. Watching millions of bats exiting a cave at dusk is something to see. So many come out that they create a breeze from their exit.
