Your Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Migrated Here

We found migrating Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in Central America! Honduras is a popular country for Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to migrate to for the winter and we have pictures of them. Are these your hummingbirds?

The Ruby-throated Hummingbird is probably the most beloved of the hummingbirds that breed in the United States, as it is the only hummingbird much of the population gets to see. Every year this tiny hummingbird makes a long journey from its wintering grounds in Central America all the way up the eastern United States to Canada. When Springtime comes, people in the southern US and east coast put out their feeders and eagerly await the coming of the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds for the summer.

Looking forward to the spring return. Just moved to east from California- missing my Little Man, an Anna’s hummer, who sang all day outside my bedroom window.

That is awesome that the azure crowned hummingbirds learned by watching the ruby throated hummingbird that the feeders have food.

I had over 30+ Ruby hummers at my 12 feeders this late summer. Hope those made it ok across the Gulf and I wait for their return in March. NE Miss.

My flock of RT's are sitting beachside in Costa Rico, sipping on pina colads, working on their tans for the summer trip home. :)

Since the colder weather arrived, my hummers are feeding less. They used to empty 4 decent size feeders, but I'm down to 2 now. At least there are some. The army will be back in Spring!! Ty again for sharing Carole!

We're in neighboring Guatemala right now and we're hopeful that the same thing will happen with the feeders that we brought with us! So far it is clear that the "local" hummingbirds do not recognize the food source. But the Ruby-throated are beginning to appear, so there is hope!

I live in Albuquerque, N.M. and had the honor of a hummingbird setting up nest 3 feet from my back window October - November. What a thrill i had every afternoon 4 pm watching it come to and fro.

How amazing that William is getting Ruby-Throated hummingbirds in
Honduras on his property. They will have good food and clean feeders while they are there.
