Dr Marks, is there never a mood component in Schizophrenia? I'm confused between schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorder with psychosis. What's the difference between these two??

Do you ever do a functional brain scan on your patients?! So how do you know what part of the brain is affected?

Everything I hear about bipolar disorder is contradictory. I've also heard that once you have one manic episode than you get the permanent bipolar diagnosis.

Can you talk about who experiences hypomania?

I wonder if lack of sleep can trigger mania for someone who's not bipolar. I also feel like there's an element of mania or hypomania to ADHD/ADD. Or maybe that's just a similar feeling when you have lots of ideas and thoughts, fellings bouncing around and feel overwhelmed. I've been diagnosed bipolar type 2, but i think diagnosis is wrong because i don't meet criteria for long depressive episodes. From checking information, and taking some tests, reading stories of people feels much more like ADD. Though i've read there are more types, subvarieties of bipolar now. Maybe it is a comorbidity, as it is very common. Maybe its ADD with cyclothymia. 6 hours of sleep after bouts of depression and sleeping for 10 hours a day gives me speedy feelings. As well as SSRI's
