Is your cat trainable? Five tests to find out.

Показать описание
Try these five tests to see how trainable your cat is. If your cat isn't trainable, work with food puzzles to find a reward they value and then try again. Every cat IS TRAINABLE when you give them a paycheck that meets the job description. More challenging skills require a bigger paycheck, so keep all assignments easy, especially when you start to train your cat.

Boredom is one the most common reasons cats exhibit behavior problems. Whether it's food puzzles or training, working for food is an excellent way to enrich your cat's life. Food puzzles are an independent problem-solving activity. Clicker training is a positive outlet for your cat's energy that also teaches them fun and practical skills and strengthens your bond.

Have fun training!

Thanks for breaking it down in small steps - best ‘starter’ tuition I’ve seen.

I adopted a 7yrs old stray 6 mths ago. He can do all 5 with ease. He's so smart and very food motivated. I'd love it if you can do videos on practical things to train cats to do that will help with going to the vet and their health etc. Thanks for your great videos!

Just adopted a feral youth kitty 3 days ago. She's very smart and has warmed up very quickly already imprinted on me fully. She's very happy to have a safe home with live and food!

She comes to me most of the time when I call. She's Also very polite respectful of boundaries. I used wet food & a spoon to start teaching her sit pretty. I click in the back of my mouth for now as I have no clicker. Surprisingly she caught on rather quickly and seemed to enjoy it.

This made me search for cat training vids. Wasn't sure there were any. Had a friend who taught his kitty many neat tricks over the years.

Thank you for sharing these vids I'll be looking through them. ❤

As soon as i found my kitten (under a friend's porch) i start3d teaching him tricks, like spinning, sitting, and standing on his back paws. Hit a road block with tooth brushing. A year later i found your videos with clickers and I was like, "what! I can clicker train him?!" I'm so excited to start over from step one, and try to work up to brushing his teeth. Thank you for these amazing videos.

It took a few days for my cat to get the food puzzle down but by a few weeks he was doing them like a pro. He also learned how to use his paws and not his claws all the time because of it. Great advice here.

Very helpful! My big cat always is so good in doing things while sitting, but the second I want him to follow my finger/food he sits down and stares at me with a 'You kidding me?!' face XD

I happened on your videos and started doing some simple training with our adopted kitten. He’s super food motivated and has learned some fun behaviors! Now I need to catch up on your videos and teach him some new things. He purrs the entire time we are “working” 🥰

Ah my senior kitty is so bored but not interested in any of the methods here. She doesn't respond to food rewards like she once did. I want to find her some interest in her late years. I wish this was an option for her-- it looks so fun!

My cat aced all these tests in a high-distraction environment and I can't even remember to click the clicker each time... I think she deserves a better trainer than me :'D

I have a smart cat for the first time in my life (she plays fetch, she has learned how to get her toys out of the drawer, she’s constantly begging to play) so I’m excited to try this. Eventually I’d like to train her on buttons, but we’re starting with basic grooming since her teeth need some help. Thank you!

Both my cats are trainable yay 😀 Now do you have any recommendations on how to clicker train when you have more than one cat? Separate them in different rooms? Or can I train them both at the same time?

This is great! I have taught my cat to do high fives and fist bumps but overall he's pretty lazy. I'm curious now if he will follow the spoon as you show in the video. I'm definitely going to try.

Do you have any special trainings for deaf cat? Maybe I could try with a flashlight as substutute for clicker?
I love your tutorials! ❤
