INSTALLING THE GARMIN ECHOMAP UHD 93SV & NEW TRANSDUCER
I decided to upgrade one of my fish finders and to change from a Lowrance to a Garmin Echomap UHD 93SV unit. Part-1 was the unboxing and this is Part-2, the installation on my boat. In the future there will be others of the Garmin in use on the water.
This Garmin includes the newest GT56 Transducer.

FYI, The transducer is sufficiently behind the transom as you see in the video to clear the hull of the TT when using the side scan so I do not need to extend the bracket farther back as I said I may have to in the video. I hope you find the video helpful.
FYI, in the next few videos I am addressing the battery you see me use in this video. It worked great for my 4" fishfinder that I replaced but that battery is too small for this unit. Gerry

Have you tried trolling along at 3-5 mph using sidescan with no issues? (transducer stay steady, not moving around etc.) thanks Lynn

I just purchased the 93 SV. I would like to determine how much battery like yours is required to power the unit. May I see a video of your process of assembly for that power supply?

Well lets hope with a new battery system this thing works out well. It does look a bit heavier than the old one so hope your smaller mount holds up. Oh by the way Mrs. Steve is very upset with you. I was in here watching your video and towards the end she came in to ask me something and she saw your green grass and flowers and she told me to tell you and I quote. "You tell Gerry I don't like him" We have close to 12 inches of snow and it's gonna be in the single digits again. I told her to Toughen Up Barbie. Gonna send you a picture with a dilemma and any suggestions would be helpful.

Good video. I am about to buy this unit too. Can I ask why you just running it off your Optima battery? What do you run off it? A trolling motor? How long does the Garmin run on your small battery? Thanks

Why is it necessary to put a cut off switch on the feed wire for the depth finder
