How to reconnect trunk (Mazda CX-5)

How to reconfigure your trunk lift! Instead of always going to the mechanic, I tried to fix it myself…AND IT WORKED ! #doityourself #diy after the cold snap on Feb 4th (-40 degrees Celsius), my trunk wasn’t able to open, no buttons to open it worked either. So I found a way to reset it.

How to reset trunk lift:

Step 1: unhook battery
Step 2: drain built in capacitor
Step 3: turn headlight switch on & hold brakes for 1 min

Step 4: release the brake pedal and turn off the headlights
Step 5: reconnect the battery
Step 6: charge back the battery by driving around
