2019 Audi A7 New Interior Design - Revealed at an event in Audi’s hometown of Ingolstadt, Germany, the 2019 A7 hatchback is packed with a full array of semi-autonomous driving tech and the same multimedia system from the recently revealed A8 full-size luxury sedan. Like its predecessor, the 2019 Audi A7 is a hatchback with a coupe-like roofline, and will compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo. In Europe (but not in the U.S.), the A7 will feature Audi’s new naming strategy with the 55 TFSI model launching first.

The design division at Audi used to have it quite easy. Before the 90s, its model range consisted of a handful of vehicles, requiring relatively little manpower and floorspace for design development. Fast-forward to today and Audi offers a total of 15 models, from the humble A1 to the evocative R8. This increase in model range has pushed Audi to build the aforementioned new design center in Ingolstadt, which houses new design technologies and philosophies.
Enter the building and you immediately notice the shear amount of natural daylight. This was pivotal in the design of the center. According to the architects, the building was designed to allow as much natural daylight in as possible. To this end, three atria flood the inner sanctum of the building with light, and exterior walls are clad in glass.

For the A7 Sportback, that translates to a long hood, a stretched wheelbase, short overhangs, and a tapered tail with an integrated rear lip spoiler that rises at higher speeds. In keeping with new signature lighting themes for Audi’s top models, a light strip connects the rear lighting elements.
Low and sleek, with a height measuring just 4.7 feet off of the ground, the new A7 Sportback looks sensational. Constructed of steel and aluminum, and offered in 15 different paint colors, Audi makes minimal use of chrome in its detailing. Naturally, an S-line exterior design treatment sharpens the lower body styling and installs gloss black trim for a sportier and stealthier appearance.

Remote parking and remote garage pilot will be available in 2018. Those features can autonomously move your car out of its parking space or out of your garage. Top A7 models will get five radar sensors, five cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a laser scanner. In total, the A7 Sportback gets 39 driver assistance systems split into three packages: the Audi AI parking package (gradual introduction beginning 2018), the City assist package with the new crossing assist and the Tour assist package. “The latter includes the efficiency assistant, which facilitates a driving style conducive to reducing consumption, and the adaptive driving assistant (ADA), which supplements the adaptive cruise control (ACC) with helpful steering interventions to maintain the lane.”
Much of the front and rear suspension has been developed from scratch, says Audi. The A7’s standard progressive steering becomes even more direct, and customers can choose between four setups: a conventional steel spring suspension, the sport suspension that lowers ride height by a half inch, electronically controlled damping and the self-leveling adaptive air suspension. All-wheel steering is offered as well, with the rear wheels turning as much as 5 degrees. Buyers can also get a sport rear differential, complementing the quattro system
