Pro-life and pro-choice campaigners took part in ad-hoc protests on Dame Street on Wednesday, culminating in the repeal protesters crossing over to face the pro-life side.

A traffic garda has appeared at the scene in recent minutes to discuss the situation with the Strike for Repeal protest organisers.

Asked what they thought of the situation, a pro-life campaigner said: “It’s great, democracy at work.”

Pro-life campaigners left the scene at about 4.30pm.

The election should not be private vote but public vote so we can remember the names of those who tried to legalise murder of the most innocent amoung us forever more.

Joseph & Steven Kidz videos for some reason I can't reply to you so I thought I'd paste my reply here and just hope you see it.
Yeah singing and having a good time while protesting to be able to terminate harmful pregnancies that can kill them, while still allowing the other side to have their opinion without any nastiness or physical clash is absolutely disgraceful, I see what you mean. Look, you can backpedal all you like and try to come across as a nice person just "saying what they see" but your post was ridiculous and misinformed and you deserve to be called on it so that maybe your understanding of the issue can be expanded and you can avoid such embarrassment in the future.
If you oppose the repeal, you are still promoting murder. The murder of mothers who are unable to abort children with fatal conditions (for either mother or child) by the state. The murder by proxy of mothers who commit suicide due to being forced to carry a child concieved by rape, incest etc. to term. In less drastic cases it inhibits the potential of women who must leave work due to childcare expenses making it impossible to work and look after a child, causes former couples who hate each other to have to deal with each other every day which impacts the mental health of all involved and creates situations where children are resented by their parent or parents, causing neglect and abuse of that child. Did you know also that crime rates in low income areas tend to drop dramatically 15-20 years after the introduction of abortion? Evidence suggests that the lower birth rates in such poor circumstances help to limit the spread of social problems such as drug abuse and career criminality in general.
I do not support abortion in all circumstances and believe it should be very strictly controlled, including it being made law that, in the case where both parents are known, the father is consulted and agrees in writing, and also that it should be strictly limited in terms of how many times a woman can avail of it, to help avoid lackadaisical treatment of the service, as well as psych evaluations and counselling for all involved. But it needs to be made legal. It is disgustingly primitive that the Church or anyone claiming a moral high ground should be listened to when what it really boils down to is a heath issue, both physical and mental. If you disagree, don't avail, judge not lest ye be judged.
