What's impacting you the most right now as the rates are rising? For me it's definitely the £300 extra per month on the mortgage. I have successfully kept housing costs to under 30% but that may no longer be the case with the current rates.

I am older and can remember my parents struggling with almost 15% interest rates in the 1980s. People are so used to cheap credit, it's going to be a struggle for many.

Thanks for an informative video. It looks like it could be quite some time to try and get things back to any kind of normality. The 50 year mortgage idea that they are considering is a bit crazy!). Biggest impact for me is the almost 100% (in some cases 300%) increase in long haul airfares. I have missed going to Thailand for 2 years, definitely want to go this winter.

Interest rates need to go up. We have lived through a crazy period since 2008 when interest rates are lower than they have been for hundreds of years…even negative rates in some countries! As governments have pumped billions into the economy through QE it is inevitable that inflation was going to go through the roof! This way Governments inflate away national debt! The problem here has been hopeless government populist policies around the World…holding interest rates too low whilst pumping up bubbles with QE.

It’s disgusting how in many ways we’re living in worse conditions than people were 25 years ago.
