An archaeological site, cemetery, and ancient stone circle monument known as Stonehenge is situated on Salisbury Plain, about 8 miles north of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. The function of Stonehenge is unknown, although it was most likely a place of worship and a display of the riches and influence of the chieftains, nobles, and priests who commissioned its construction.

Many of these individuals are buried nearby in the many barrows. It may have been used to calculate the agricultural calendar and observe the Sun and Moon since it was oriented towards the Sun.

I don't know... I'm just remembering when we placed those stones upright and placed some of the cap stones back on top with a crane. Hard for me to believe the placement accuracy
