Space Is Filled With Billions of Hidden 'Rogue' Planets And We Might Soon Be Able to See Them!

The mention of a “rogue planet” may conjure up images of the Death Star, but we should be happy that what astronomers have found is nothing of the sort. Up to 170 of these vagrants are in our cosmic backyard, and surprised researchers say there may be billions of them floating around our Milky Way, completely free of host stars.
What does this mean? For one, what was recently thought to be a rather rare find now seems like anything but. So how did astronomers locate this treasure trove of celestial oddities in our neighborhood, and what can we hope to learn from them?
Welcome to Factnomenal! In today’s video we look at what we know about these planets, how do we learn more about these outcasts, and what can the study of rogue planets tell us about our own origins?

Im excited about most of the new space discoveries we make. I like to imagine what's out there that we don't know about or can even imagine.

Space exploration is only getting more excited, due to our technology that is improving. Glad to be alive now🚀

Is it me or is it scary to realize how small Jupiter is compared to few rogue planets that are gigantic.

🌚 What did you think about these rogue planets? Also, what's a good name for one of these cosmic nomads?
Best one gets pinned!

It's crazy to think how big some exoplanets are. Jupiter and Saturn may only be average sized in the grand scheme of planets

First time I’ve heard of OTS 44 and holy shit, does it look menacing. But when it comes to space facts, exoplanets and rogue planets are what I find the most fascinating… so yes, I’m looking forward to the new info we will be getting soon. Love the channel.

A rogue planed is a planed that has been pushed out of a star, by a second galaxy that came to close.. if 2 galaxies come 2 close to each 1, then there is a chance it will not take all stars from the second system to form a new galaxy. So some planets and stars can be pushed out. That's what we call rogue planets and rogue stars. It's all based on gravity. If a (1#star systems gravity is smaller) than a other (2#star system) who has a bigger gravity. Then the one with the bigger gravity wil win the battle. And the planets and stars that are located near the ege wil be trow out in deep space. At this point all life will be killed trough the speed that these planets and stars are turning around. But in time they could form new life again after they created a stronger (gravity and magnetic fields), in there inner core. If u look at the big picture u might have learned that life not always I'd possible by water. Even in lava we found that life can be created. Trough (Bacteriology) they discovered that bacteria found a way to live in (active lava flows). And where there is bacteria, there is life. 😉 but back to the point. A rogue planed and rogue star, can be very dangerous to us. It can knock out all life at our planet.

Wow I can remember when this hunt came onto my radar. It was around the time Halebop was cruising by..

Just look at our asteroid belt pieces are often interactively slung off.

Hey Factnomenal, can you do a video on space & time

No solar wind to "blow off" the atmosphere. So, no mag field is needed.

Maybe that is the Destroyer planet Hell was fully conferred really in the late 70s but they didn't know the full size of it till 1998 I'm talking about the First one u think is a Rogue planet

If they aren't orbiting a sun, by definition, they aren't planets. They are at best asteroids, at least, scud of the universe.

would a brown dwarf live longer than a red dwarf? if so, would it be humans last hope?

Thank You 'Factnomenal' for this interesting video In future, when more powerful telescopes on air and ground will start working, we may learn about this free floating world.

What if the James Webb finds spaceships deep in space fighting one another. Sorry it was a long exhausting holidays with my kids. Thinking way off the rails with this one LOL

Being far away from your parents as a kid is not polite except if you're an adult and your parents are still close to your house

It's crazy that the first rogue planet wasn't discovered until 1998!
