Should YOU Visit Luxor? Egypt

Is Luxor safe to visit? What are the hotels like? What can I visit?
In this video, I will give you my guide to why you should visit Luxor!
Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in southern Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs’ capital at the height of their power, during the 16th–11th centuries B.C. Today's city surrounds 2 huge, surviving ancient monuments: graceful Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple, a mile north. The royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens are on the river’s west bank.

I am pretty poor and do not travel so your videos fill me up with great info and experiences. I love how meticulously your describe everything. It helps those of us that cant be there- to feel like we have been.

I wasn’t keen to go but my husband desperately wanted to and eventually wore me down. We travelled with a company known in the UK for looking after “older” travellers and I was absolutely awestruck at what we saw. You have to see it to believe it. Yes there was security everywhere and yes the locals were pushy but travelling in company with a guide gave us protection. A must see destination.

Going by your video, Egyptian people seem so kind, welcoming and friendly. I have always wanted to go to Egypt, but my family is terrified of going. I am an avid traveler, so I can't say I've never been anywhere, but Egypt is definitely a dream destination of mine! I think more people would feel safe going to this wonderful country if they prepare themselves for possible scams, learn about basic culture and customs, and book excursions in groups versus being alone in a country you have never been before.

My experiences may be different than yours as a solo woman traveler, but I genuinely like to believe that 95% of people are kind, compassionate and understanding. I really hope to go to Egypt by my 70th birthday haha. Currently 32 so quite a ways a way, but definitely something to look forward to.

This is the one country that I really want to visit in my lifetime. My parents did a Nile cruise years ago and absolutely loved it. They said the boat and staff were wonderful. I just wanted to say that your photography walking in to the tombs was amazing and made me feel like I was walking there along with you. I dont know what camera you used on the end of that stick but its doing a great job. Thank you x

I was supposed to do this very trip 30 years ago with my Grandfather. Unfortunately circumstances were against us and he passed away. So thank you Tim I watched this vlog with glee and my grandfather in my heart x

I’ve seen these places many times on TV but your walk arounds give a much better sense of scale. It’s almost like being there myself! Thank you sir.

I visited Luxor during a Week's cruise along the Nile as a kid. Now I'm finishing my BA in Egyptology and was at a premier for a new exhibition I helped with

The trip really gave me the love for Egypt that I've kept ever since! It's wonderful to see you filming some of the areas I've been studying for 3 years - I've literally been translating a papyrus that records the first strike in history. It mentions how the workers who build the tombs of the Valley of the Kings walked to the back of the mortuary temples that you flew over.

After my Masters that I'll start later this year, I hope to travel to luxor to really put my studies to the test!

Feels like we were right there along with you...because we were 😂. We were in the same balloon segment as you! Lovely to have some quality footage of the flight as that video you could pay for was pretty rubbish.
And so weird that we travelled so far and still ended up with someone from Norfolk - me and my sister (also in the video) grew up in Winterton 😅

Loving the Egypt series Tim! Fantastic seeing Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Tutankhamun & my favourite place is the architecture at the Temple of Hatshepsut! The Hilton hotel with a backdrop of the Nile is a Dream!

Hello from Nee Zealand Tim, look forward to you coming here. My cruise down the Nile and trip to Egypt was the best trip of my life, unfortunately was 45° Celsius and really quite unbearable heat, but still worth every moment. Will def go back in April when its cooler. I never got bad belly when all my companions did. I stayed away from anything with water/ice. No salad washed in water, only bottled water, only hot food and probably about 2 tonne of pastires and desserts. I found that staying away from all non bottled water was the key, even when brushing my teeth I used bottled water Thank you Tim, you have literally allowed me to relive so many special moments I had. I love watching you and your travels but this one was just a little more special ❤
