We are so confused about betaine. Many result if you have low stomach acid you will have reflux, gas, bolating. If you have high stomach acid also have the same effect, reflux, heart burn, gas and bloating so which one?

I think I might have this issue. I’ve had the sensation of lump in throat, chest pain, cough especially dry cough . Sometimes I feel like I’m not getting enough air. I’ve gone to my doctor got a scan of my throat everything looks okay. I’m tired of going to doctors. I also bought bethaine hcl, dgl licorice, slippery elm. I tried the slippery elm and I drank it in powered with water. I also tried the licorice as well.

I have been using betaine hcl for 15 days...my throat tightness has reduced. Then there are days when it doesn't seem to work. Is this normal? And how do I know if I don't need betaine hcl anymore?

Hello, if you can't take Betaine HCL / Pepsin because of Gastritis, then what should a person to do ?

In the study you showed they gave 1500mg hcl with 250ml water. After 6.5 minutes the ph dropped from 5+ to less than 3 ph. And after 30 mjnutes it dropped to 0.6 ph. So why not take it just before meal with some water?

The doctor diagnosed me with eoe back In February but still no trouble swallowing! But I have this unbearable burning in the center chest(breastbone) when I take betaine it helps a slight but I still feel it later. Did you feel something similar even when taking it???

I got diagnosed with mild gastritis a year ago & was on 3 different high dose PPIs for 4-5 months now I have LPR consistently. I haven’t had a gastritis flare in about 6 months. Is it safe to try?
