The band's name is derived from the words "blues" and "bouzouki", the signature stringed instrument of Greek popular music.

I'm extremely excited about this new venture, firstly because of the magnitude of talent brought by Tassos Giannoussis (bouzouki, strella, tzouras), Antonis Tzikas (upright electric bass), Panayiotis Avgerinos (guitars) and Pavlos Logaras (drums) --each of our encounters fills me with humility and an overwhelming joy!

Secondly, because it is a project born from the friendship that binds the four of us and of our shared love of all things music. This is reflected in our repertoire, which really knows no limitations. We just play what we like. So far, we have gone from Greek iconic songwriters Souyoul, Giannides, Mitsakis, Zambetas, Tsitsanis and Chiotis to Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Jimi Hendrix & Prince and from Portuguese traditional fados to contemporary French songwriters such as Benjamin Biolay. Needless to say, as we all hail from seemingly diverse musical backgrounds, the arrangements take on a twist of their very own and have become... bluezuki.

Tassos and Antonis are established heirs of the Greek rebetiko and laiko tradition. But they are also great Jazz lovers. Sometimes Tassos sounds like a Greek counterpart to Django. Antonis is just about the grooviest bass-player I've ever encountered. Panayiotis, is our instrumental bridge between East and West, a true acoustic Rock & Folk aficionado. Pavlos is our rhythmic backbone, a deft and versatile musician & solid time-keeper.
