I am lucky enough to own 7 Japanese Love Rocks- a 335 ( which Larry Carlton played while we were on tour in Japan and LOVED it) a LP Standard ( black) a 335 dot neck ( which Larry Carlton played while we were on tour in Japan and LOVED it) aLP Flametop, a gold top w/ P90's and TWO double cut, single pu LP Jrs. I tour with a Tokai endorsed artist so I get "hand picked", at 
an incredible deal on these in Japan. Generally blown away every Gibson I've owned ( no '59's of course) in build quality and sound.

First of all, great video!
I’ve bought an used Tokai LC-136 with ebony fretboard this week and I must say I’m amazed by the guitar overall. Fit and finish are spectacular, the poly feels very thin and not plastic like at all, the frets are polished and glassy etc. the only thing wasn’t perfect was the bone nut as it wasn’t cut properly for the e string which was too low and some others were so high that it was barely unplayable. I’ve solved the issue in a few minutes and after that all was perfect. I’m still getting a feel for the mkII pickups as they have their own character (which I’m not sure how it sits with me). I recommend anyone looking for a LP custom style guitar to give them a try, I’ve had a 2019 Gibson Les Paul Custom and even if some won’t believe me, I can say this one is a better instrument overall for literally 1/4 of the price.

I really appreciate the video! I came acrossed it because I bought a Tokai LS-TOG P-90 Les Paul type. I can’t find any videos with someone playing one so I appreciate the tips what to look for. I bought it from Japan however so it wasn’t cheap! I have a good feeling it’s authentic from what I can see in the photos.
I already have a Tokai Les Paul that I love so I am very excited! Thanks again!

Awesome vid I just bought an Ls 136f HB for 1300aus 2yrs old it was hardly played in immaculate condition its an awesome guitar well built sounds good I cannot believe how good quality Tokai's guitars are and also the premuim case that came with it....

Correct me if I'm wrong but now the serial numbers are 7 digits and once again say: 'Made in Japan' on the headstock.

Have a 1970s Cortez mij les paul, looks like the same guitar basically, but bolt on neck, got it for about 200 bucks, plays like a dream, nice job!

hi, excellent video, I have only played copies of Gibson, the closest I have been was 1 epiphone korea, but now I got a tokai alc 60, goldtop, year 85 aprox, with the gotho japan pick ups and I am very happy with it. the best I've played so far, a hug from Argentina

For the one interested, the black version is a two piece body the reddish version is one piece.

What a great video. I'm traveling to Japan soon and am hoping to find a good deal on a Tokai, Orville or really any well made MiJ Les Paul. I checked a lot of Japanese online used guitar stores and seem to find loads.

Tokai guitars are great. My japanese LS85F is beautiful and plays great, never felt I was missing out to a Gibson original.

Great find I have one identical but it's an Orville year 91 great guitar way better than what Gibson is dishing out these days enjoy it waiting for your sound check on this one

Oh. And it's true about the number of screws on the trussrod cover. But that's not the original TRC. It's a Gibson replacement.
