Antonio Banderas returns to his roots in “Pain and Glory,” a new film directed by – and based on the life of – legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. His role is a study on health, ageing and feelings, and is made all the more poignant considering Banderas himself only recently recovered from a heart attack. He joins the program to discuss a role that critics have called his most important.

As a heart attack survivor myself, I understand exactly what he expressed, you are sad because you know you are not as strong as you thought you were, you worry about your loved ones even more than you did before and you want to take care of yourself much better so you can be there for them. Suddenly other things you thought were important, seem to take a back seat in the ride of your life and you become very aware of everything around you. It actually can make you a better person. He is still the gorgeous man we all know and love.
