Bonneville Junior High assistant principal on leave over allegations of racism

An assistant principal in the Granite School District is on paid leave after a student says he made a racist comment toward her.

I can’t believe that Mr. Bauer treated Melanie like that when others wore the same thing. I mean, I wasn’t there because I don’t have that lunch I have the other one, but I think Mr. Bauer did the wrong thing and his consequence was the right thing.

So all we got to do is ask one question is her clothes in violation of their dress code if you can answer yes then nothing else matters if you can answer no then it does plain and simple people anybody and I mean anybody who brings skin color into an equation of a situation is a racist I don't care if you're white black green orange purple if you bring skin color in as a possible reason or a possible solution you are a racist so this girl who is bringing this up is a racist I seen the clothes she was wearing I would not let my daughter go to school that should be a violation of dress code hopefully it is and hopefully she gets expelled for being a racist and trying to get this man's job to confirm him

Except that Melanie says this same thing, "is it because I am brown" for everything. Even when joking with her friends when they won't give her a potato chip. Sorry, this "is it because I am brown" statement is really wearing on EVERYONE.

I’m sure this fleeting story gives Melanie the attention she is seeking that she sadly doesn’t receive elsewhere. As her mother says, “words hurt, ” but guarantee, the broken home that was forced upon her hurts much worse. Melanie is a beautiful and smart girl, but she would be better served to concentrate on her studies and not go down this silly road.
