Thank you for such a reassuring message. I love that you give the text references, because even though I remember this teaching and it gives me peace, I am not very good at memorization. I have started going through the bible in order to memorize the basics from each book. I am wanting to learn to point people who ask me of my assurance in Christ where they also can find certain truth, rather than just telling them to go read the bible and find it on their own (even though I know this is best for them, I don't want to appear callous). I had a great uncle who was a Lutheran pastor, my uncle used to grill him incessantly on what the bible teaches about certain subjects, and finally one day, Great Uncle Victor, after answering several questions patiently, finally just said, "Read your bible Dick darn ya!" It made us all laugh, thankfully.
