As I am on the cusp of my final defense for my EdD at Liberty (Curriculum and Instruction), your video was a true God-send! First, you were from Michigan (Me too!) and second, you are used to speaking in front of a crowd as a pastor / comedian (Me too - as a classroom teacher/performer/women's ministry speaker!). Thank you for sharing your journey - especially the information regarding the oral defense. While oral communication is truly in my comfort zone, I was getting myself quite stressed over the "big-ness" of this moment that is encapsulating the last three years of my life. When you defended your portfolio, did you have to create a PowerPoint to defend your work for the committee? Or did you just briefly explain your micro projects and wait for them to ask questions? I’m in my first micro project course, but I love to long-term plan. Thank you!

Hi John, first of all; congratulations! I'm just wondering, as I'm in the final stages of a DMin at Liberty: Did you get a separate grading for your thesis and for your defence? And what about receiving 'honors' (distinctions). Any idea on how that works? (in relation to your GPA).
