The 23mm 1.4 WR is legit. It's possibly the one lens I'd keep out of all my lenses for versatility, speed, and quality. Great video man!

I have always been a 3-lens person.

In my film only days, on my SLRs I shot:
24mm f/2
35mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.4

On my 35mm rangefinders I shot:
21mm f/1.4
35mm f/1.4
90mm f/2

In this digital age, I shoot the following on my Fuji X-Pro2 mirrorless:
16mm f/1.4
23mm f/1.4
56mm f/1.2

The 23mm f/1.4 is a great lens.

I own the new 23mm 1.4, cos it's the focal length I prefer. Yes it's pricey, but on the other hand there's nothing to worry about. Lens works exactly as expected- And that's true for all apertures and distances. While the Fujicron lacks sharpness in lower distances on F 2. Once I bought the F 1.4, I forgot about the money I spent. I'm just happy with it, it glues on my X-Pro 3.

I use this lens on a xt30ii and the balance is perfect. Image quality is superb!

I have the 18mm and the 33mm. They are just perfect, as you say. Excellent IQ, AF… everything. But many times I end up taking the 35mm f2, or the 27mm f2.8 because I choose APSC because of the size. For casual/amateur/travel/family shooter… I would go for the ‘fujicrons’ and I would invest in Topaz photo for noise reduction if needed :) (to compensate that 1.4 to f2 difference).

I love my two lens combo for my X-Pro-3, the 23mm F1.4 WR and the 56mm F1.2 WR

Huge fan of the 33mm 1.4. Fuji's primes are killer lately.

Oh how I hope they update the 18mm f2, improve the optics, make it weather sealed and add the linear motor🤞id buy it in a heartbeat. That 33mm 1.4 is super tempting however and I'll patiently wait for it to start appearing on the used market in a couple years time.

This is the sharpest lens in my bag for the fuji system. Corners very impressive already from f1.4.

I have the 23mm f:2 and for the size and AF speed is one of my favs.

Have the 18 1.4 and the 33 1.4. I love them both. A Viltrox 75 1.2 completes my entire lens kit. However, I use the 18 and 33 90% of the time. All three are exceptional and truly professional grade!

Well we both seem to prefer 28mm to 35 (FF) and love the 50mm too. The Fuji equivalents (18mm f1.4 and 33 1.4) are stunning. I'd recomment getting the 18 1, 4 (what a lens) then get the 33 later.

My 23mm fujicron is my favorite lens for my fuji cameras. I think only if you absolutely need F1.4 is the new one better otherwise I would grab, just because of the size, to the fujicron. top video as always.👌

I came Sony full-frame and my go to was the Sigma 35mm f1.4. That beast was the size of a full-frame zoom lens and weighed like one at 640g. It makes the 23mm f1.4 at 375g not too bad of a compromise. 😅
Fantastic and insightful video mate!

Picked up the 23mm F1.4 WR two days ago. Have had the Fuji 23mm F2.0 and VIltrox F1.4 and kept the Viltrox and sold the F2.0. The Viltrox will stay as my backup lens, but it's not in the same class as the Fuji. I can't quite believe how much better it seems to perform than either of my previous 23mm AF lenses, in fact.

I have a huge lens collection, mind you, including a lot of manual glass... and it's the 23mm that always ends up on the front of my camera. If I had to narrow things down to a single kit, it would be the 10-24, 16-80, 70-300, the 23 mm F1.4 and a Meike 6.5mm fisheye. But I won't. Because it would make me cry, lol.

I couldn't afford the F1.4 so I got the F2 which is still a really great lens as well. Thanks for the review of this lens it's really good and I definitely think that 35mm equivalent is a must have in your kit. It is pretty much my street walkabout walk to a spot lens I can photograph pretty much anything with it except for birds obviously but it's a really great lens. Thank you for the video once again. I went for the 1.4 in the 35mm instead. Maybe I should've gone the other way. I don't know I was fairly new to Fujifilm and still am to a degree and my budget said F2 for the 23.
