I wonder if any of you have ever witnessed a DUI wreck first hand? I did when I was 12. I saw my mother get hit while walking across a street in Jacksonville, Florida. The intoxicated driver was fleeing police, and hit her doing 40mph. The impact threw her into cross traffic at the intersection. While she made it, she will never be the same. The driver was convicted of Multiple hit and runs, DUI, Speeding to elude and several other charges.  What did he get, 1, 500.00 fine, 18months suspended. As for my mom, she has been in and out the hospital since, some days she can't walk. BTW, time frame, I'm 43 now. So think before you drink and drive.

The kids laughing in the audience should have taken this staged accident more seriously. This may be something they have to deal with in the future.
