Renate Knaup, the lead singer for Amon Duul II, also was a member of Popol Vuh, which also featured some of the other members of Amon Duul II.

I listened to this group in the 70's. I love the use of the mellotron, whic predated the synthesizer. Very innovateive group. Right up there with Pink Floyd. Their sound is really astounding. Thanks for posting.

Originally part of a very large group called 'Amon duul' they split into two factions. Amon Duul 1 and Amon Duul2 the better of the two is the one you're listening to. I read a review of a recording by Amon Duul 1 An album called 'disaster' the very short review reads only "emblematic of what the recording is like".
