Welcome to my YouTube channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content. In today's video I get to work on disassembling a 63 split window to prepare it for a chassis swap. I was lucky this car came apart nice and didn't fight too much. The car is now ready for it's new chassis, drivetrain, wiring, and interior. This car will be back on the road soon.

I just finished restoring a 1963 Corvette Split Window and I am starting another split window build but this time its a race car build. I will be making videos every Friday. I will be making videos on my 1963 Corvette Split Window, my dad's 1965 Corvette, my race car split window build, my friends 1960 Corvette, and other projects that I find along the way. Let me know what you think about the video. Enjoy!!

If you are interested in an official shirts, hats, or tools please go to my website below.

Check out my Instagram for some behind the scenes pics of my builds.

Sit back and enjoy the show!

The customer certainly hired the right guy for the job. You know those C2s well.

Did the same on my 63 convertible 32 years ago. I ended up hammering a metric socket onto the rear bolts in the body well to turn them out.
Midyear corvettes are notorious for rust on the rear kick-ups where they meet the box frame.
I have my vette 47 years now and still enjoying the car to this day.

I'm sure you know that a hoist is just a tool designed to test the tensile strength of items you forgot to disconnect! Don't forget those little copper AM radio static eliminating grounding straps!!!

Great video for instuction as to how to remove body . For you, this is all an easy fix compared to the other corvettes you've worked on .Looking forward to seeing it on the road,

That’s a really good car. Nice place for the misfit chassis. Interesting to see the problems that arise, and how you deal with them. It shows exactly how it goes. Cool Mitch.

Wow...that frame is toast!...he's lucky the birdcage isn't in the shape that chassis is in!

Hey there Mitch,
Hey that's a great look into c2 body removal prep, especially getting those last body mount bolts free. Looks like you did it incredibly fast 🙂
Thanks for the video. I look forward to the body raising!

Take care,
Dan

Nice job....When I removed the frame on my 65 the caged nut on the drivers side rear compartment spun. Cutting head off was the only option for me also.

This is very helpful, when are you posting the body off? I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Also, will you discuss the pros and cons of the "different" straps or brackets folks use to lift the body off?

For years it has seemed to me to be a business opportunity to repair the frames; keeping the same original frame but somehow removing and rebuilding the runners underneath where the doors are and after that re-welded and then sandblast etc. In many cases the frames are good except for that rusted out portion.

That was pretty cool Mitch. To get the Misfit frame would be nice, we all watched it step by step be rebuilt. Not a bad looking 63 to start with. But with a little bit of tender care the owner will be very happy. You build the frame, it is all in the open and in immaculate shape, would you paint it with truck bed liner or not. Have a great week, I get mine back Wednesday.

Totally off topic question. Is it feasible to rebody a C6 (2005) with a 63 split window body. My all time favorite Vette
