Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi was born in Porbandar, India in 1869. His mother, Putlibai was a deeply religious person who believed in the principle of ahimsa, or nonviolence, and she taught this to Gandhi from an early age. She passed away when Gandhi was 16 years old.

I feel the hindutva extremists are retrospectively trying to destroy the legacy of Gandhi. He was a great Indian leader, who quite correctly advocated unity of all communities living in India. His personal weaknesses and mistakes should not now be highlighted for hindutva's sinister purposes.
If we had acted on his vision, India would be a united superpower today from Kabul to Burma.

He is known for dividing hindustan into 2 pieces like Pakistan and hindustan. He called killer HARAM and later WRONGLY heard it as HEY RAM. He had needed 2 shoulders of young girls to rest his shoulders. He missed Nobel prize for this act. His contribution to country is a big ZERO

This in my opinion is in poor taste.
We all have plusses and minuses.
The Muslims and the English were cruel. For a non violent and vegetarian culture there were no weapons.
He tried. That was more than the Rajput's who gave their daughters to Akbar.
He gave is life.
Tell me what have you done in your life. Criticizing is easy. No qualifications required.
