It's so inspiring to listen to a humble artist who is really good and honestly talks about his strengths and weaknesses. This is so tremendously helpful to hear for an aspiring art student. Thank you, Karl, you're an awesome person and an awesome artist.

I gotta say I like the organic nature of the podcasts being produced. It´s real people sharing their real experience - no pretending to be overly hyped or extatic if it´s not wh at they feel, not cracking jokes if it isn´t who they are, and if they feel like chuckling and being funny it is genuinely them.

It feels like meeting the real artists and having them share a bit of themselves through their teaching, and in times like these where it is impossible to meet them all in person, it´s a great way to share their influence to a growing population of people discovering art but that have no body to speak to about it, nobody to relate to or to guide them.

A buddy really helps, it pushes you like crazy! But we don´t really have that like that, a lot of us. I have my friends, but no art community. I think doing these is really valuable and hopefully more of it becomes available for free.

It is without prescedent that people can influence others to grow thanks to the communication era of the internet video, and even live interaction is now possible. AND IT¨S ALL PRESERVED! Just amazing, so glad this eventually came to happen.

See you guys around!

This guy is just so humble and genuine. Beyond refreshing 😊

Edit: I commented without reading the other comments and I realised that Kopinski’s humility is something that EVERYONE else also picked up on. It’s a trait that his art also reflects, as they all have this raw truth to them. They’re rugged and serene at the same time and it was just so wonderful to watch him draw and talk through his process ❤

I really like how Karl recognizes that he still makes mistakes. His humbleness is what makes him great as an artist because he still feels like he's growing and learning even though he's well known. The day we stop growing is the day we're dead.

It was somehow comforting to hear your favorite artist and a top level pro has the same thoughts and doubts as you do

I have just found Karl’s work. It’s awesome hearing his perspective. I relate to a lot of what he says in the videos. Even the stuff about making the model planes. I used to love building spitfires! I had an obsession with jet packs. The old movie, The Rocketeer used to be on repeat as a kid. Crazy how similar my designs and line work is to Karl’s. He just does it at a higher level. Very inspiring 🤘

this is great. and for us, amateurs/not skilled people, it's good to listen to talented artists talking so humble.

This man is so amazing, if you put the video on 1.5x speed you still understand him perfectly like he's speaking naturally.

I'd not give Karl more than something in the 30's!

I just wanted to add something I think that's important. First I want to put my experiences through my art journey into perspective. I was extremely interested in drawing at about three years old this was because I was mechanical minded also I was the second boy in the family, so it was a point where my parents didn't put as much time in to teaching me like my older ribelious brother. I struggled with reading and basic literature my parents always thought drawing was a means to an end I didn't think so. I was always drawing and as I grew up it was something I loved doing as a hobby in my mind. I was really the only one in my family who had any artistic interests. I grew up in a small town basically trudging through learning on my own. Now I'm 25 and I realized I spent twenty years learning with no clue how much of one type of art whether it be portraits, fundimental practice, cartoon drawing, or character design drawings to focus on. Although I spent 20 years of my life learning where most people with a talent like I did would learn it in five years with a mentor and proper time managed education. All that being said I think it's more important to enjoy what you love doing sometimes it's better to take your time and make those mistakes like me 15 years of unorganized persistence ha it only makes you a better artist with more experience. Now I'm at the point where I'm very confident and presueing my education taking it to the next level my biggest problem was managing my time with work, school, practice, and finished pieces. If you are struggling to improve go ride your dirt bike or do something scary that way when you come back to the drawing board your relaxed and okay with spending several hours sitting farely still that way your consistently moving forward with a balance of moving and stopping so the stay. I hope this helps someone who might need a little extra.

I gotta say, and I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I can’t believe this content is free

I like Karl because he just seems like a regular guy who learned how to draw really well, some artists are just really insufferable with how pretentious and egotistical they are. Even Kim Jung Gi has no ego, he just loves to draw. Nothing worse than sitting down to listen to someone who thinks they poop gold out of their pencil
