Honestly, I think at this point she is taking her promise to Hikmet a little too literally. Just because she can't tell Emir that his father is sick doesn't mean she can't give him any explanation for where she was and what she was doing. She could've just told him the truth without any details. Someone she knew was sick and in the hospital alone without any family and she decided to stay with them and got permission from Emir's father to do so. End of story. Emir would've wanted details, but it would've been the truth and it wouldn't have revealed Hikmet's secret.
