Just remember everyone, when you see Spartan II's doing all that crazy acrobatic stuff, their armor weighs 1000 pounds and would pretty much rip anyone with out the Spartan augmentations to pieces.

They move in it like it's a pair of shorts and a Tshirt.

To paraphrase the words of a newer gen Spartan; the Spartan 4s are the mortal Greek heroes, they can achieve feats more than human but they have their limits on the mortal plane. The Spartan 3s are the Demi gods, they can do the borderline impossible, but even they can falter if pushed too far. But the Spartan 2s, they are full on gods of war, they are given a task and they achieve it. Even when it shouldn’t be possible, they still manage it.

Development history
Designed using artifacts from humanity's prehistoric interstellar empire, mostly from ruins of a dead world and the vault of a shattered starship. Spartan-IIs testing the armor showed near-perfect synchronization with the armor, though compatible Spartan-IV operators required an acclimatization period and tweaks to their augmentation maintenance before deployment.

The augmentation actually had 3 effects and not just 2. 1st, a portion ended up losing their lives. 2nd the ones who were lucky enough to survive, yet were pretty unlucky enough to gain deformities. 3rd and last results were of the successful augmentation of the spartan-II's, which became some of the strongest and elite soldiers among the unsc.

The deformed spartans dont have much story of what their fates ended up with in the book, but they were mentioned there. It was said that they would use what skills they could, such as strategizing and commanding. But there isnt much lore or story showing any result in this.

One of my favorite Lil notes about the spartan IIs is that the lore armor was made for these genetically enhanced demigods, and that the suit would (and I think has) pretzelficate(d) a normal human with their "subpar perception of the passage of time"

Man seeing them in mk iv really makes me wish we got spartan dedicated weapons at the start of every mission or drops from pelicans like in halo 2.

Ancient humans without a combat suit were much stronger than a spartan and were also more intelligent and taller. + ancient humanity had a civilization tier of 1 so they were right there with the forerunners

Two more of the other critically important parts of their training not mentioned is teamwork and leadership. Also that Halsey reminds them they are _humans_, not weapons. The camaraderie between the SII's further developed their mindset.
