It's interesting to note that a Morgan Stanley financial analyst bad-mouthed Palantir, saying it's overpriced and performance isn't sustainable, but institutional investors at Morgan Stanley have actually increased their position in PLTR by more than 10% as of 3Q2024 to nearly $1.6 million worth of stock. Now, I know there's purportedly a "Chinese Wall" between the research side of Morgan Stanley and the investment side of Morgan Stanley, but it's unusual to see such a huge apparent "schism" between the two. My inherently skeptical nature tells me this "Chinese Wall" is really nonexistent in this case and that the research arm of Morgan is trying to push the price down so that the investment arm of Morgan can get the maximum shares they can, buying in gently as retail investors panic so as not to cause the stock to spike during this period.
