If I recall, aren't these wedges electroplated with nickel or chrome? What happens when you sand through that? Polishing steel only helps with rust prevention to a point. Just asking as I'm going to be starting a set of Vokeys myself

I'm certain you would love using a Blendex U Cup unitized wheel from Walter for this work... Not cheap... but they are excellent for buffing & blending stainless, bronze and iron.
