I admire all your hard work. I guess I cheated. I had 4 Southern E8's and fitted the older LifeLike shells to new walthers chassis. I really like the tsunami sound and the new walthers drives. I have a short video of the 4 of them together. Thanks for posting this great video.

Best trucks made in ho scale with the floating bearings and the sprung design. Motors are great. Adjust the brush springs. They lose their tension over time . Once tuned they will run smooth and quiet.

For some reason now when I turn on my E8 with dcc sound it doesn’t work and makes this buzzing sound. Please help.

Rodumus, very well done! Question: In removing the weight aren't you sacrificing pulling power? I was wondering if it just the rear section of the weight could be cut off so that their would be space for the speakers. Seems like there is space for the decoder on top of the weight. What do you think?

Very informative; looks like cell pone video. Buy a "selfee" stick which will allow you to clamp the cell phone in position and free both hands yielding smoother video. If a regular video camera, but an inexpensive tripod to achieve the same result - better video.

with your installation eliminating the heavy weight from it you will lose the great tractive effort it provides the model which means you won't be able to pull as many cars anymore
