Troll West Electrification module installation

Huge vessels become even bigger when they are close to shore! In May 2023 the Thialf heavy lift vessel picked up three modules for the Troll B & C platforms quayside at Stord, Norway to install them offshore. The modules, delivered by Aker Solutions, are key to reduce CO2 emissions from the two platforms. Their sister platform, Troll A, was electrified since start-up in 1996.
