Mk6 Gti Reliability (Good Daily Driver?)

Heres a little video of my opinion on the reliability of a Mk6 gti.
This may not be spot on but it is my personal opinion on the car its self! Hope you enjoy enough to give me a sub! FYI this isnt an amazing video, just wanted to help anyone out contemplating on buying this wonderful vehicle.

I've got a 2011, 232, 000km on it, biggest fix was the rear main seal, still feels insanely solid. recently bought a mk7.5 R but plan on making the mk6 a project within the next couple years! absolutely love the thing.

My 2013 GTI with DSG just hit 100k. Zero issues, just pleasure. It's well maintained. I simply just do what the manufacturer recommends and use Top Tier Premium fuel. Expect to get another 100k.

If you're getting a Mk6 the most important thing is the timing chain tensioner. Either get a 2013-2014 when VW updated the tensioner or expect to pay about $1000+ to get it replaced. Love my Mk6 GTI. Good video dude.

Upgrade your timing chain and tensioner and than reliability is excelent.

This cars are reliable after you spend a good 3k on them... Timing chain tensioner failure is a thing for them from very early on... Also fuel pump module, and intake manifold failure are very common.. So if you have an extra 3k to 4K to spend on parts and labor and another 1k in random maintenance or break downs then you will be okay...

I got a 4 doors DSG from 2012, I got 110k (kilometers), that's my everyday and family car and I love it! Hope that I can run another 110k at least!!! Cheers from Belgium
