Hi there again, well I've just finished my first attempt at acrylic painting, I don't think I was really prepared for just how quickly they dry, they really do dry quickly don't they, but as I want to try a more impressionistic style and not blend colours so much it could be an advantage. I started painting about two years ago during lockdown as the BBC in the UK started showing Bob Ross who up until then I hadn't seen before so when I started having a go myself I obviously painted just like he did, he was my only teacher after all, but now I think I'm developing a style of my own that is a bit different from his . I have huge gratitude to Bob though because without him I'd never have even had a go. His legacy really does live on so many years after he died, I think he'd be over the moon that he's still inspiring people today.

Gotta get my sister to do purple clouds like this for me. With glitter on those water highlights! Because sometimes I just need some glitter! 😊

I just painted my first painting yesterday, I learned a ton with the mistakes that I made. Thanks to your content, I was able to buy the correct supplies instead of buying a ton of things I didn’t need. Thank you for creating great content!! I appreciate it.

Wonderful! I prefer oils; but expect my students will want the ease of acrylics. Now I will be able to teach acrylic landscapes easily. Thank you and Tally for sharing your talents with us.

I started watching Bob Ross about 15 years ago. I never even thought about painting but recently I thought why not try it. I'm pretty good at it. I also watch Bill Alexander he is so funny and give you so much information. I started watching you recently and have learned so many great things a lot of answers to my problems. I want to thank you. I only do oil I just can't do acrylic.

Well this couldn't have come at a more perfect time, I've just got back from our local art shop with a load of acrylic paints and pads of stiff paper. I really want to practice with a more impressionistic style but I didn't want to waste oil paints and canvases as they are just too expensive and good to waste for practice so bought a load of stuff that I could use and not worry about the price. I realise that acrylics are totally different but it's going to be interesting to have a go.

When adding God light did you wait until canvass was dry?

Anyway you could do a video about setting up an art studio? I just bought a house with a freestanding building currently used as an office. Just wanted to find out your thoughts on what color I should paint the walls, lightbulbs to use since it only has one small window and any other organizational items you’d suggest. Mostly looking to turn this into a place to paint using oils and acrylics. Thanks!

I just started thinking about switching to acrylic, at least for a particular project I want to try. But the video link you pointed to never popped up. I was hoping I'd find a link in the comments, but alas, no. So, i figured I'd ask for one. Thanks.
