Being unceremoniously ejected from your band via fax would leave a sour taste in anyone's mouth, yet Kim Deal’s response to the dissolution of the Pixies was simple: she created a Platinum-selling masterpiece.

Definitely in the top 5 rock albums of all time, and top 3 of "alternative" or "indie" or whatever.

This album is still in my normal rotation three decades later. I'm still chasing that guitar tone, like, I evaluate all of my distorted guitar tones against The Last Splash's guitars.

Great work on the video. Just want to note that it’s Josephine Wiggs on bass and Jim MacPherson on drums. The drums are also very artfully engineered and produced on this record too. Not experienced enough to break down the drum recording techniques but would love to see a breakdown of Jim’s drum sounds over the years.

Divine Hammer, Invisible Man, Saints, Cannonball, Drivin on 9. I love her other group's album: the Amps, Pacer
