This would be a good programme if it didn't fall into the trap of the nonstop, irritating, cretinous, overbearing 'mood' music. I'm sick to the back teeth of programmes, particularly factual ones, being impaired by more music than every Alfred Hitchcock film combined and some idiot experimenting with synthesisers, xylophones etc. I used to think 'mood' music only occurred in weak productions to gloss over the deficient content but this would otherwise be a good programme if only the producer got rid of the 'mood' music. There must be somebody blackmailing producers to include such an horrendous distraction, even the main news and wildlife programmes are loaded with it. Please! No more mood music. My other criticism of this fundamentally sound series is that we are given to believe that only men apply for parole; of course, incarceration is heavily tilted towards men but it would improve the mix to have a woman seeking parole.
