Sorry. But Brexit just can’t work. Labour must be honest and brave enough to level with the people of this country. It may not be about rejoining (just yet), but we can do huge amounts to start reversing the damage. I hope Starmer holds true to his word.

We cannot reverse Brexit, there is no case for rejoining, that is why as a lifelong Labour voter I am now going to vote for any party that says we should reverse Brexit and rejoin the EU. The evidence is clear, Brexit is a disaster and the case for rejoining is overwhelming.

Interesting response from Sir Keir, but I for one would still like him and the entire Labour movement to really go to town on the damage BREXIT has done and will continue to do to this country. As I see it, it is not incompatible to point this out, but also look for and promote the best strategy to ameliorate the effects of this disaster. Sadly, BREXIT will never never live up to the promises the Brexiteers promulgated.

Politics is a game of addition, you need to convince people to come to your side that were previously on the other side. "there's no case for rejoining" says Starmer. Well, if there's been any interference from Russia, then there certainly is a case. It was dubious enough beforehand. Johnson knows there's more to it, otherwise he wouldn't be thwarting any attempt to look into it.

because a large group of leave voters still has a bad dose of Stockholm syndrome, and no matter how bad things are or get, they are emotionally attached to the sinking pit that is Brexit. They will not engage with the solution, and have detached themselves from the truth. That is why to tell them starkly "you have been taken for a ride" would be disastrous for Labour.
