I always thought that their trial was not conducted properly. They were over punished for what was done to them by their own parents.😢

They are (2) psychopaths that committed premeditated murder rather than move on with their ADULT lives, which they chose NOT to do because it would cost them a significant inheritance🤦🏽‍♀️. Many people are abused that do NOT commit murder…this is setting a horrible precedent!!! They’re fortunate that they did not get the death penalty.
If these were (2) black or brown men, people would have demanded that they get thrown UNDER the jail🤷🏽‍♀️….so many black and brown men are serving life sentences for FAR LESS egregious crimes. KEEP THEM LOCKED UP FOR LIFE!!!🙅🏽‍♀️

The brothers will live the rest of their lives with the consequences of their actions, but the system failed to protect them as children. Yes, they lack a moral compass, and Lyle may be a sociopath, but they are products of a broken system where abuse went unpunished for years. It’s very possible that if José were still alive, he would continue to hurt others, and Erik might have ended his own life instead. I believe it was an act of survival. It was either Erik’s life or José’s, and Lyle chose to protect his brother over their abuser.

The jury was biased. The fact that the defense lawyers were women, combined with underlying misogyny and homophobia regarding suspicions about Erik’s sexuality, didn’t help their case. My heart goes out to Erik, and I hope he finds justice in this world. I pray that love touches the hearts of those with the power to correct the wrong done to these men.
