I still remember watching the movie The Captain (2019) which is about this particular accident. I thought ACI would never make an episode on this accident because there was already a movie on this, but I was wrong. I think the movie is more dramatic or realistic and more accurate in some parts such as the interior of the aircraft, but I think ACI episode is more accurate in terms of the story, since ACI isn’t meant to alter much of the stories or to be overdramatized like many docu-drama films.

Overall, it’s great to see 2 re-enactments of this accident. It’s good that one of them is by our favourite TV series, Air Crash Investigation. I can’t tell which one is better but they both look cool.

I was always wondering if Mayday was ever gonna cover this incident. Like they did with British Airways flight 5390. Happy they finally did because I did want to see if this incident had other similarities with British Airways 5390, other than the fact that both planes had a cockpit windshield failure.

Sichuan Airlines Flight 8633 was a flight from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport to Lhasa Gonggar Airport on 14 May 2018, which was forced to make an emergency landing at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport after the cockpit windshield failed. The aircraft involved was an Airbus A319-100. The incident was adapted into the 2019 film The Captain and was also featured in the documentary series Mayday

If I’m not wrong, the pilots in this video were not animated; they used green-screen effects to make them look as if they were on an actual flying plane.

The previous one was caused by maintenance error due to installing wrong bolts on the windscreen while the new one was explosive decompression. The insulation of the wires was reduced after being soaked for a long time causing continious arc discharges at the windshield's lower left corner. As a result, that causes the windshield to break since it can no longer withstand the pressure of both inside and outside the cockpit.

Applause to Sichuan Airlines flight 8633. One of the pilot got really injured since the air was sucking him up but there was a really hight chance that he would also get sucked up from one of the engines which would not only cause the pilot to die, but the whole entire plane would probably die as well. During the middle of the flight, they also had to go into a massive storm in order to get to the airport. It was really hard work for the crew and the pilots.

Description for the pilot (who wasn't sucked out from the air):
The pilot is 30 something years old (not sure) he has a 4-6 year old daughter and it was also her birthday the day when the emergency happened. The pilot really missed his daugther and knew he had to make it through otherwise his daughter won't be able to have a father anymore. The pilot's wife was also really worried about her daughter and his husband. So mainly, Sichuan Airlines flight 8633 made it was because of the pilots daughter. Till this day, we still recognize him as a hero and even made a movie of this situation. (its really good, you should watch it)

Anyways, congrats to that flight and bless the pilots daughter ❤
