🤣🤣😂 "This is my son, Qusell" had me rolling on the floor. Well out here in South Africa, in my home language, Xhosa, Letters like Q and X make a click sound. Nqobile, which means won or Victor, is an example of such. Thank you Office Blokes for the interesting content and reactions, we love it.

THIS. This is literally the first video of stand up I ever saw at school in early 2000's, when youtube was brand new. Referencing this sketch out loud in a room of strangers, and seeing who responds with the right reference. It's how I find my people in life.

The exclamation marks would denote clicks for the Nama, Khoi, San and Griqua people, the Bantu languages use the C, X and Q

BabaTunde is a Yoruba name often given to boys that are born right after the death of the family Patriarch. It literarily means “Father has returned” or “Father is back” so it won’t have made sense to call your Grandson that as you and his Dad are still alive 😅🤣😂😂😂

Gotta look up the meaning of the name before you pick it.

The clicks are C, X and Q. Not exclamation marks, he made that up. But the pronunciation is right and the click he used in that name is the letter Q in Xhosa and Zulu. it's spelt NQOBILE and it means Conquered/victorious

I remember watching this stand up show way back in the day and that’s how I was introduced to Russell, I was instantly a fan. This part of his set had me crying literally 😂I couldn’t breath especially being a Xhosa man from South Africa.

However he threw me a bit off when he claimed Trevor stole his jokes… but nonetheless he’s a great comedian, a legend.

Babatunde is a Yoruba name from Nigeria and it means my father has come back or my father has returned. ( used to signify the rebirth of ones dad)

As a Namibian whose mixed ethnicity, and coming from a multiracial and multiethnic country with multi ethnic groups that have clicks, it's definitely a thing unique to South Africa, Namibia and Botswana amongst the Khoisan and some Bantu ethnic groups. We have the Damara/Nama for instance in are one of the officia languages taught in some schools that contains clicks.

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie did an act where Hugh's name consisted of dropping things on a table. Fry playing a police officer asked him for his name. Huge would say "my name is" and then he'd drop keys or something like that onto the table. His name was the sound of dropping the object on the table. LOL

Yeah Nqobile is a fairly common name the isiXhosa and isiZulu languages.... don't know about the exclamation mark though, probably a little hyperbole for humor.

The X is the click, not the exclamation mark.
