There are lots of puzzles like this. The approach is as follows. First count the number of branches at every junction. If there are even no. of lines meeting at a junction call it an even junction. If odd number of lines, then odd junction.
If there are no odd junctionsl, the puzzle is solvable. In fact you can start at any point and still complete the job.
If there are 2 odd junctions, then also it is solvable but you have to start at an odd junction and finish at other odd junction.
But if there are more than 2 odd functions, is is unsolvable.
