12 Most Incredible Underwater Discoveries

Here's a statistic that might surprise you. According to the National Ocean Service of the USA, only five percent of the world's oceans have been fully explored. That means there are almost certainly hundreds of fish and marine life species we've never encountered living down there and a vast realm of utterly unknown territory. Perhaps we should be making more effort to explore the seas because unknown and unexpected objects have a habit of turning up in them as you're about to see in this video!

I find it so ironic that we’ve only searched 5% of the ocean, but polluted nearly 40%-50%. Maybe I’m guessing high but my point is that we’ve definitely done more damage than discovery.

My brother in law is/was a SEAL and underwater demolition specialist for the navy. He was on one of the Apollo recovery missions. SEAL's are some of the toughest guys on the planet, glad he tolerates me.

I’m from and live in Alabama and where I’m from we have a man made lake that has a forest underneath the water. Not long ago a woman fell in the water and disappear, later on they found her body deep underneath the canopy of the trees. The sonar pics of the place is creepy as hell.

Liked and subscribed! Great channel!
I agree with a comment made on a previous video... Hollywood film clips are not needed or desired for serious study of the world's oddities that you bring to light so well! Keep up the great work!

Truk Lagoon- During WW2, we found a Japanese fleet of ships anchored there and we bombed them and sank them... This was well known, .. Jacque Cousteau didn't discover that.

Why doesn't anyone, pump the oil and fuel, up, out, of the sunken ships, then, leave the ships, where they lay? That would be far easier, than mounting an operation, to raise the ships, and cargo, to the surface, then, haul them away. This, has developed into, a marine sanctuary, with all the plants and animals, associated with reefs.

this video was super fascinating and really well put together! i love how it highlights such amazing discoveries. however, i can't help but wonder if the emphasis on these finds overshadows the environmental issues we're facing in our oceans. what do you all think?

Truck was destroyed by sailors during WWII who had lots of dynamite.... One of them was my professor at Arizona State University in the ‘70’s. They destroyed the reef by fishing with dynamite..

The ocean was 400 feet lower only 12, 000 years ago. The water was stored in the ice caps on north america.

Don’t really understand how sculptures made in the 21st century qualify as “discoveries”...

Your cover page is very misleading, it shows a chest of coins that never shows up in the video! Why?
