Dabi met Izuku when he was 15 (3 years before Izuku decided to be known as a villain named Foxy), at this time Deku gave up trying to be a hero because he thought he was quirkless. Well, he stayed out one night to think about his future, and he met Dabi in an alleyway when he was wandering the streets. Deku found interest in the villain's quirk when he saw Dabi light a cigarette with a small flame from his finger. Deku wanted to know more so he asked Dabi out of nowhere if he (Dabi) could show him how he uses his quirk (leading to the event in the video). In excitement he accidentally activated his quirk (this is his first time using it) which is 'Fire Manipulation', he can't create fire but can control the burning flame(s) to his will.

I wanted to mention this in the other video I posted but was too lazy to do so.

This actually could make sense, since Inko (Midoryias mom) can pull small objects near her with her hand and since it's said that Midoryias dad can breathe fire, manipulating fire could've been his quirk if he had one

So this happened when Izuku joined the league. Dabi and Izuku had a very good friendship from the start. Because when the league members were showing off their quirks to introduce themself's Dabi had serious respect for Izuku because of how he reacted (exited and amazed) to his seriously dangerous and hot, fire, that was right in his face. Especially since he was quirkless back then and hadn't gotten his quirk from AFO yet. Not to mention he was an EASY target to him, gone in literal seconds. But he had no fear of him and was so trusting to him which he never really got from anyone so that was another factor that made him respect him dearly. So he knew they get along very well when it came to arson and other things that included fire but also their personalities. On another unrelated note heresanothe two head cannons. They have a private chat just to roast the other members of the lov but they would also do it in person and they had those roats locked and loaded for anytime from each other but were also able to just absolutely roast the rest of lov on the spot. (also the roasting pun was unintentional but take it as a pun if you want too) They also may or may not have burnt down endeavours Agency like 3 times with Dabi's flames and a HELL of a lot of matches for Izuku lol.
