Mitt Romney appears to have the momentum that would put him on a path toward the Republican nomination, but Ron Paul is still in the race and is still collecting delegates. It has Romney's camp fighting mad. WSJ's Danny Yadron visits Mean Street to explain. Photo: AP.

Ron Paul has won eleven states but has only 94 delegates.

Everytime the media say Ron Paul won't win the nomiation despite his success in the District and State conventions, I'm thinking to myself "Why?" yet they never give me an answer.

Romney has no chance of getting Ron Paul supporters to vote for him, and he can't win against Obama without us. Even the Republican party die hards are not enthusiastic about Romney being the nominee. So far everyone Mitt Romney has mentioned as a possible running mate has said no thanks to a Romney vice-president position. Mitt Romney has no chance of being the President of the United States. None.

Since the Republican Presidential Candidate nomination is dependent on receiving 1, 144 Delegates’ support at the convention (August 26th), Ron Paul could still be nominated. While they may have committed to certain candidates, delegates are free to change their minds if their conscience so dictates. So 1) If you pray: Pray for delegates to courageously support Ron Paul 2) Attend the rally or help a Delegate attend the Convention. 3) Sign the letronpaulspeak petition. 4) Spread the word

It's quite simple folks. If you like the TSA, higher taxes, more debt... You need to vote for Mitt Romney and Obama.

If you don't support the troops, want more war, and WW3.... You MUST vote for Mitt Romney and Obama.

If you support the troops, want peace and not war, want less restrictions in your life, want an end to the TSA... You MUST vote for Ron Paul

Too bad this "Delegate Count" is completely fucking wrong. They are counting delegates that haven't even been elected yet... Not to mention the RNC's own Rule 38.

Ron Paul 2012. A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama. Time for the two big parties to take a walk.

How can the American public be so ignorant and blind to not support the only candidate this year that has support from almost everywhere in the world?!

In Maine, I might add, Santorum's delegates Joined the Paul campaign. That was expected. What wasn't expected was that resultant from the Romney camp's behavior, Romney's delegates left early, didn't bother showing up at all, or jumped ship and joined the Paul camp to vote with them. This resulted in The Paul camp, who barely had a majority to start with being able to take votes requiring a 2/3 majority. Maine wasn't just a defeat for Romney, it was a shellacking.

the thing about ron paul supporters is, there are more of them than anyone else.

And then there is the RNC Rule 38 and the legal ruling in 2008 that basically frees all delegates to the national convention to "vote as they choose" and ignore any attempt to bind them to a particular candidate coming from their State. How about a little media story on that issue??

Lastly, the Romney camp had a couple of legitimate beefs in Maine. The problem is that the convention is run by rules which they didn't follow. Everyone is bound to them whether they like it or not. And had the Romney camp made their points at the appropriate time instead of waiting more than 24 hours to address it, they'd have been happy with the result as the Paul camp agreed with them. Rules are rules, though, and nobody in the Paul camp was going to break them even for their own good.
